"The saint, therefore, is the one who daily withdraws his will from movements of evil and merges it in the holy will of God. It is impossible to become a saint unless we lead an interior life. This is evident from what the masters of Christian spirituality have understood by the expression an 'interior life.' It is a life of continual union with God, sustained by a constant spirit of abnegation and recollection."

Prayer for Beatification or Canonization or intercession

Almighty God, your servant, Father Theodore Foley, was an outstanding witness of commitment to the sufferings and death of Our Lord Jesus Christ through the Congregation of the Passion.

As a priest of the Church, he was especially zealous for the reconciliation of sinners.  Through his intercession, may all experience the full practice of the faith and may he be elevated to the altar so that his example may shine to the glory of the priesthood and the commitment to the Cross.

We ask that his prayers may obtain the favors which we so fervently seek (here mention your request).  We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with the Holy Spirt, one God forever.

          Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be To The Father.

Imprimatur:  Achille Cardinal Silvestrini
