Litany For The United States

American Saints and Causes presents the stories of many holy men and women of the United States and their love of Christ.  While we strive to be a comprehensive source of information on these individuals, we hope that American Saints and Causes will stir your soul and lead you to ask what is the unique mission that God might be calling you to live.  A first step in that would be a desire to pray.  On each page of a Saint, Blessed, Venerable or Servant of God we provide a prayer for intercession of that individual, as well as quotes from the individual’s spiritual writings, if available.  But we recognize some of you may be moved to foster a relationship with many who appear on American Saints and Causes.  As it would not be practical to do so by saying all of the individual intercessory prayers, we have composed this Litany for the United States as a method of invoking all of the holy men and women of the United States together in a single prayer.  Additionally, we hope you will find it a help to be able to pray for the well being of the United States and the Catholic Church in the United States.  Most of all, we hope you will find it a help in growing in your faith and witness to Christ in your own life, which in turn may be just what the United States and its culture needs to be drawn closer to God.
