Welcome, Our Soft Launch

Welcome to American Saints and Causes! As our Mission Statement explains, this site is dedicated to promoting awareness of the holy men and women of the United States who have been canonized Catholic saints or for whom causes of canonization are under way. It is our conviction that greater awareness of these wonderful examples of what it means to follow Christ will be of great encouragement to the faithful in the United States that holiness is possible within our culture and communities.

While it will take some additional time to complete biographies on each individual represented on the site, there is much to check out already.

  • Explore the Maps and Pilgrimages page where you can find a Google map of shrines and burial sites of all saints and causes or the Regions page that can allow you to quickly find individuals associated with your state or region.
  • Check out the Saints, Blesseds, Venerables, and Servants of God Chapels and Hall of Candidates to find a listing of these holy men and women. On each person's individual page you will find information about their life and cause, a short biography, a spiritual quote, the official prayer for their cause or intercession, and books to learn more.
  • Read the News and Events page to learn about developments in the causes or events sponsored by them throughout the country. Past events can be found in the archives.
  • Visit the Shop to find the largest collection of books and other items related to the American saints and causes.
  • The Blog contains commentary and reflections on the American saints and causes.
  • Finally, pray the Litany for the United States or the Rosary of St. Joseph with us.

We hope you find American Saints and Causes edifying and a help to your spiritual life. We'd love to hear from you, especially any representatives from the featured causes that would like to collaborate with us to promote awareness of the history of holiness and witness to Christ in the United States.
